You maybe wondering what a premarital exam is. The term premarital exam is a unique term in Utah, but common to the women who live in the state. These exams are scheduled for women who wait until marriage to have sex. Premarital exams can also be referred to as premarital physicals as well.
A premarital exam is very similar to a woman’s first exam or annual exam.
Screenings to expect at these exams are:
- cervical cancer screening (also known as a pap smear)
- breast cancer screening (mammogram)
- colon cancer screening (colonoscopy)
- testing for diabetes and high cholesterol
